What is the fastest way to get organic followers without touching a bot?

Genuine question, not a lead-in to a pitch. I run four client accounts and the only lever I trust at this point is posting volume, which is slow and expensive in VA hours.

Things I have tested that did almost nothing:

• Engagement pods — 6 weeks, measurable reach bump, zero follower retention past 30 days
• Follow/unfollow by hand (not automated) — 9% follow-back, mostly accounts that never see a post again
• Commenting on big accounts — 40 comments a day for a month, 180 followers, all low intent

What is actually working for people right now, at four figures of followers a month, without automation that gets the account restricted?

Cross-platform is the answer nobody likes: build on the platform where you can rank text (Reddit, forums, search) and send those people to the social account. Followers acquired that way actually convert.

That matches a client where the IG grew off the back of a Pinterest board neither of us was paying attention to. Did not connect it until now.

I sell followers and I will still tell you: bought followers do not get you organic followers. They get you a number. If your goal is reach, collaborations beat everything I sell.

Collabs, specifically with accounts roughly your size rather than bigger. Two 8k accounts posting together both gain. An 8k account posting with a 400k account gains nothing.

$5/day in paid on your best organic post. Not an ad, just a boost on the thing already working. Cheapest follower acquisition I have found and everyone ignores it because it is not clever.

Volume is the lever, you just do not want it to be. Nine of ten accounts I see plateau because they are posting four times a week and calling it a content strategy.

Numbers or it did not happen. What was the spend?
