Selling infrastructure to marketers: small, boring, extremely sticky

Run a small managed-VPS thing for marketers who want servers but do not want to be sysadmins. 70 customers, $34/mo average, so about $2,400 MRR.

It will never be a big business. Churn is 1.4% monthly because switching is a genuine hassle for the customer. I have not spent a dollar on marketing in a year; it all comes from two forum threads and word of mouth.

Posting because everyone here chases traffic businesses and nobody considers selling picks and shovels to the people chasing traffic businesses.

1.4% churn is the entire post. That is a better number than almost any content business in this thread.

Picks and shovels is right. The least cyclical money in this industry is made selling to the people in it.
