Same pattern in Shopify land with private apps. Agency builds the store, keeps API access forever, nobody revokes it. The platform changes, the human failure does not.

Deactivated-but-installed plugins being exploitable is the part that surprises people every single time. Deactivation does not remove the files, and plenty of plugin bugs do not need the plugin to be active.

The caveat that speed is a tiny ranking factor, in a listing selling speed optimisation. I shaved 1.8s off LCP myself last year and conversions barely moved, so this matches my own thread.

Vouch, four sites. Went from 34 to 96 on the worst one. The before/after report with dates visible is a small thing that makes it auditable.
